Can it fit? Leslie had her doubts, but she fell victim to one of the classic blunders. The first is never get involved in a land war in Asia. The second, and only slightly less well-known, is this: never underestimate the power of the hatch.

The living room with Bryan's stuff moved in. This includes the couch, piano, guitar, TV, electronics, HUGE speakers (soon to be repainted). The room doesn't look quite as big now, but it's much more homey.

Ikea and the Apartment
Date: 30 August 2003
After a day of cleaning our apartment, we decided to wait on going into SF and instead braved the opening-weekend crowds at the brand-new Ikea in East Palo Alto to get dining chairs, patio furniture, and a bookshelf for next to nothing. Pictures of shopping and our mostly-decorated apartment ensue.
