National Park the first: Death Valley. We speculatively bought a year pass for $80, and ended up saving money before the trip was over. - IMG_0759.JPG
National parks don't let dogs *anywhere*. They basically have to stay in the car at all times. Here we are flagrantly violating those regulations at an overlook of Death Valley. - IMG_0761.JPG
More death. - IMG_0764.JPG
This valley was probably more deadly before they had the highway going through it. - IMG_0766.JPG

The next morning, we strike out from our Motel 6 in George, Utah, to Zion National Park (Natl Park #2). Zion actually has one dog-friendly "trail," a paved path about 1.5 miles long from the parking lot along the floor of the canyon. Still pretty nice. - IMG_0776.JPG

On our way out of Zion, some of our favorite rocks: I like to imagine I'm on Mars or something. - IMG_0796.JPG

We pull away from Bryce, ready for a long and boring drive as far toward Dallas as we can manage. - IMG_0814.JPG

After making camp at another Motel 6 (cheap, you can bring your dog) in Santa Rosa, NM, we swing through Cadillac Ranch outside Amarillo.
