First Class! Location: Boston, MA et alia This is the first time since I was a little kid that I've gotten to sit in first class! It was kind of neat, but at the same time I felt uncomfortable--I feel like I belong in coach. Well, this was were my seat was reserved, so this is where I sat, hot towel and all. - IMG 1754 t

My rental car Location: Boston, MA et alia A Ford Focus, courtesy of MIT. It's always fun to drive a late model car whose long-term maintenance is not your own responsibility. - IMG 1763 t

Legal Seafood Location: Boston, MA et alia Can't go to Boston and not have seafood, right? This place was great! I had $50/day to spend on food, and this was actually the only thing I billed to them. I had the clam chowder, which was the best I think I've ever had in my life, followed by a selection of grilled fish fillets, scallops, and shrimp. Damn it was good! - PICT0096

A pretty German building of some sort, that is now being used mostly as a conference center. We wandered around inside and considered crashing some talks on personal organization. - PICT0102

Pole in the center of the market: another example of why I don't like the German aesthetic. - PICT0106
All these big grey buildings in northern Europe had beautiful red flowers in the windows, which I thought were just lovely. - PICT0107
Me in front of the science and industry museum and some river we never quite caught the name of. Notice the garish yellow visor, bought in a moment of delerium to keep the sun off my pale little face. - PICT0108
Leslie and Sarah inside the museum, by a big boat. Taken by a woman who didn't know how to hold the camera still. - PICT0109

Sarah with flutes! (Her legacy from the band days.) - PICT0113
I'm sure this statue signifies something deep about risk-taking or something, but to me he looked disturbingly like a memorial to suicide jumpers. - PICT0114
