You know what never gets old (for me)? Taking pictures looking up at trees. Expect a lot here. - 101 0162
I tried putting my nalgene in front for scale, but it didn't look quite right. So trust me, this was a big tree. - 101 0163
Many of the biggest trees (like this one) had been gutted by fire at some point in their history. So while they were still healthy and thriving (takes more than a fire to kill a 2,000-year-old tree), you could could crawl inside them and stand it the middle of the trunk. - 101 0165
More: looking up a trees. Whee! - 101 0166
There were a surprising number of stands where 6 or 7 giant trees grew right next to each other. Here, Bryan and Jeff stand between several. - 101 0167

101_0181 - bryan paints the speakers
First, some pictures from home. One of our home improvement projects has been changing Bryan's giant black speakers from eyesores into landscapes. Here, Bryan touches up the base coat of hills and sky. - speaker with hills
The next weekend, Leslie spent a few hours adding some detail. (Mom will recognize these flowers from her bathroom painting.) - speaker with hills close up

We've ventured into San Francisco a few weekends now. Though we have yet to snap any pictures of streets or buildings, Golden Gate Park offered a few photo ops. This is Leslie and Jenn, a fellow TFAer. - bryan and jenn golden gate park

Now, this picture's a little blurry, but I found it very important to capture the beauty of this tomato. Perhaps the best I've ever eaten. - roses from bryan and george
Bryan and George sent roses to my school to help me feel better about my miserable life. It worked. I'm easy. - roses and kitchen

The first weekend in October, and we finally made it to a beach. This was in the perpetually cloudy but lovely Half Moon Bay. We spent a few hours on the beach and then had some outstanding seafood at a local joint dripping with character.
