anniversary feast Bryan and I celebrated 2 years on March 17. I skipped my Wednesday-night credential class in honor of the occasion. Cooking proved too challenging, however, so we splurged on Whole Foods prepared food. - scuba gear mirror

After our first round of scuba classes, we got to take home the stinky wetsuits and 75 pounds of accompanying gear. And four tanks. - art projects 1
I got to take a teacher field trip on March 25 to tour a variety of schools and classrooms. We saw lots of cool art projects at this school in Menlo Park that is just a tad nicer than Fischer MS. - art projects 3

You'll notice that the plane was scheduled to leave at 6:20. Leslie and I got off our plane at 6:17. We were supposed to arrive about 35 minutes earlier, except a huge storm front was moving into houston from the west that forced us to go around and come at it from the east. - 0410 183229
So, I sprinted from our plane to the one bound for cozumel. I got to the gate at 6:19, but the doors on the plane had already been closed. I begged and whined and pleaded, and they agreed to open them again for us. My brother had apparently only barely made it himself. Five minutes after we took off, they closed the houston airport because of the storm. A close one, indeed. - 0411 111542
A waffle house on the beach, lunch after our first night there. Doug was off doing his refresher course. - 0411 140744
Both of the days we went out on the boat, Leslie got stuck with the one spot that was wet. She was thoroughly soaked by the time we got to the reef. - 0411 143333
Here begin the underwater photos. You should be impressed that they aren't all a sea of blue. Doug did a bunch of research on how to correct for the fact that, as you go deeper and deeper, the red end of the spectrum fails to penetrate and you're just left with blue. Here's Bryan.
