Careful viewers will notice that the moon has been meticulously added with Photoshop. You can't trust anyone these days. - PICT0105
Pole in the center of the market: another example of why I don't like the German aesthetic. - IMG 2881

The "Great Arch of Zion." It's probably about 500 feet tall and 1500 across. Really amazing. This is the first thing you see after leaving a tunnel that takes you into the canyon proper, on the west side. I'd have to say that hands-down, Zion was the most amazing place we saw during the trip. - IMG 2969

I took this one in a hurry and couldn't quite capture the horror of these stairs up to Kacee's apartment--very typical in Amsterdam. Narrow, steep, and shallow. Not pretty to get bikes up and down. - PICT0115
The view from our Munich hostel. - PICT0046

Deciding I need to lighten my load, I drop four shirts and a legal pad out the window. Kacee assures me that someone will pick it up for use within 15 minutes. She's right. - PICT0046

But first, Leslie got a look at the UCSD campus, particularly the central library Dr. Seuss designed. - PICT0074

I mean, you've got two words, and they are from *totally different languages* but they sound similar, and they have similar meanings! WOW! - IMG 3001
A ridge with a LAKE! It was odd to see a bunch of boats being towed around the desert; we were confounded until we saw the majestic, day-glo lake Powell. - 14 snow in the morning

In the Rijksmuseum, the huge national museum. Much of it was closed to get rid of asbestos, eek, but the highlights were open.
