We unreasonably drive all the way to Texas for Thanksgiving so that Sous can play with cows.
Sous sits, eerily human-like, in the back seat.
On our way through Tahoe, we introduced Sous to the snow for the first time.
We sneak in a quick walk on national forest land off 395 north of Mono Lake.
The road down to Mono Lake.
Mono lake itself.
A picturesque road-side stream provides a break.
You'll also see lots of random scenery pictures which we shoot from inside the car because we are lazy. Here are the Sierras as seen from 395.
Sous observes the scenery.
Mt. Whitney (far left) and others at dawn, taken from Lone Pine, CA.
Mt. Whitney, Sous, Bryan.
National Park the first: Death Valley. We speculatively bought a year pass for $80, and ended up saving money before the trip was over.
National parks don't let dogs *anywhere*. They basically have to stay in the car at all times. Here we are flagrantly violating those regulations at an overlook of Death Valley.
Sous prepares to drive herself away from the park office.
This valley was probably more deadly before they had the highway going through it.
VEGAS! What a magical place. I've said enough hateful things about the city of sin during previous trips, so I'll try to hold my tongue.
The highlight of our Vegas interlude was lunch at Bobby Flay's Mesa Grill. As you surely know, Bobby Flay is a wildly famous celebrity chef with approximately 4 billion restaurants and 18 shows on the Food Network.
Bryan ponders the menu.
A Man harvests change from a fountain to the delight of onlookers.
It's really boring. He stops after $3.
