- Leslie and Bryan cook
They miss the kitchen! With one set of camp silverware and one set of camp pans, Leslie and Bryan valiantly attempt a meal in Leslie's pittance of a kitchen. It turns out marvelously. Mom's spaghetti sauce--always the inaugural meal. - Leslie the ocean
This weekend, Bryan comes! We go to the beach. - Lorena

We decided our sand castle would incorporate several civilizations. A Norman castle keep, an Egyptian pyramid, a Sumerian and/or Mayan ziggurat, and the Great Wall of China. We are HUGE nerds. - Sand castle planned
Sand castle, planned - Team building 2
My view, from the back of the line. - Team building 3
Another group - Team building
Team-building! Whee! We get unnecessarily close with our CMA groups trying to make our way across the grass on posterboard lily-pads. - Willie

The "hallway" at Markham. The campus is all open to the air. Teachers straggle in. - lunch line
The first thing that greets us when we exit our dorm at 6:30 every morning: a line of boxed lunches. I can never look a turkey sandwich in the face again. - ms momeny s lit group

Enter the students. This is actually from the midmorning break, ironically called "nutrition." But the only thing I've ever seen the kids eat is hot and spicy cheetos. - posters front of room

Back wall of our classroom, featuring some posters I made on parts of a paragraph. - teachers lounge
In a few moments of spare time, we relax in the teachers' lounge. - IMG 3064

I know what you're thinking. Driving at 75mph and taking pictures of your odometer are mutually exclusive activities. But it was a *really* long drive, and maybe after 8 hours I was getting overconfident. - IMG 3073
Just as I got into the Seattle area, it started to rain on me... It was as though Seattle had prepared a special welcome just for me. - IMG 3074
The Commodore-Duchess apartment building. It's literally right across the street from UW proper. UT folks, imagine living at 26th and Wichita. The location is killer, all the bills are paid, but it is a little bit small. I'm sure I'll get used to it.
