Another shot of the main quad, from the inside. - IMG 3078
Another pretty gothic building that I don't know the name of. This one makes up the south side of the main quad. The trees and architecture are gorgeous. I almost feel like I'm cheating on UT for loving it so much, but the spaces are just so much more open (you're not always crammed between two five story buildings). - IMG 3077
A view into the main quad from the west. - IMG 3076
Another of the big plaza. The neat-o gothic building on the left is one of the many gigantic libraries here on campus. - IMG 3075
Here are some random shots I took while wandering around campus. This is on the main pavilion; the foreground is occupied by a statue of UW's namesake. - IMG 3074
The Commodore-Duchess apartment building. It's literally right across the street from UW proper. UT folks, imagine living at 26th and Wichita. The location is killer, all the bills are paid, but it is a little bit small. I'm sure I'll get used to it. - IMG 3073
Just as I got into the Seattle area, it started to rain on me... It was as though Seattle had prepared a special welcome just for me. - IMG 3071
I know what you're thinking. Driving at 75mph and taking pictures of your odometer are mutually exclusive activities. But it was a *really* long drive, and maybe after 8 hours I was getting overconfident. - IMG 3067

At about 5:45, I'm on the road about to cross the Dunbar bridge over the bay. - teachers lounge
In a few moments of spare time, we relax in the teachers' lounge. - posters paragraph

The front corner of class, with more posters. - nutrition break
Enter the students. This is actually from the midmorning break, ironically called "nutrition." But the only thing I've ever seen the kids eat is hot and spicy cheetos. - nutrition break 2

ms. momeny's lit group - lunch line
The first thing that greets us when we exit our dorm at 6:30 every morning: a line of boxed lunches. I can never look a turkey sandwich in the face again. - hallway
The "hallway" at Markham. The campus is all open to the air. Teachers straggle in. - dorm room pan
Wide-angle shot of my bedroom, Candace's side mostly. But you can see my pretty computer. - diana jen and red lunch bags
Diana and Jen, two more for the Bay, modeling our ubiquitous red TFA lunch bags. - bus 7am
On the bus, 7 am, bound for Markham Middle School. - Yazmin and Michael

And now, our students. This is Willie. - Team building
Team-building! Whee! We get unnecessarily close with our CMA groups trying to make our way across the grass on posterboard lily-pads. - Team building 3

My view, from the back of the line. - Sand castle planned
Sand castle, planned - Sand castle finished
We decided our sand castle would incorporate several civilizations. A Norman castle keep, an Egyptian pyramid, a Sumerian and/or Mayan ziggurat, and the Great Wall of China. We are HUGE nerds. - Sand castle begins
